Stuff I want to learn how to make

1

1. Coconut macaroons
I just love these things.

2. Good gooey cinnamon rolls
It’s harder than you think to pull these off.

3. Falafel
I tried once, they just fell apart.

4. Cookies
Can’t go wrong with cookies, not just chocolate chip, but all kinds.

I’ll add more when I think of more.

I need a trip

One of these weekends I need to just drive out to the desert or the mountains. Camp over night somewhere, go on some hikes, and just get away from the city. No one but me and where ever it is I am.Or I could go on a really long bike ride…P.s. Alex you get your bike yet?

The fall of grace

2

Recently, I was accused of being the most conservative driver ever. That is, I don’t drive with a “lead foot” and I rarely ever slam on the breaks. On the thought of it, I figured the reason for me doing this it my want for the operation of the vehicle to be a fluid as possible. I try, to not much success, to make everything I do to be as fluid as possible. For example, Surfing, it’s been described as a dance. I’m not talking about short boarders doing crazy maneuvers, I’m talking about longboarders who glide across the wave with fluid motions that aren’t far from the water itself.

I could not help concluding this man felt the most supreme pleasure while he was driven on so smoothly by the sea.
-James Cook

That feeling of gliding across the water is one of the best in the word. I can’t think of anything better…

This brings me to the pelican, this is the most awesome bird, apart from the penguin. If you’ve ever seen one as it flies just centimeters above the water, using the air pressure created by the advancing wave, you know what I’m talking about. Humanity in general is like this pelican crashed into the wave. Confused about what just happened, looking around hoping the weren’t seen. The pelican at least recovers and is awesome again. We should all try to be more like this pelican.

RIAA VS. Everyone

Via engadget, RIAA wins first-ever file-sharing case to go to trial, awarded $222,000
This does not bode well…

The Sky and Meteors

1

As you may know, I… read the last post. I’ve finally uploaded some photos I took while there, they show they sky.

Of particular interest is this photo. In it you can see in the center right, a meteor. The dotted line going across the image was a passing airplanes lights.

Check out the Gallery for more.

It’s Hot

San Diego is roasting right now, not as bad as last year, but still hot. I went out to the desert on Friday to watch a meteor shower. On the way out I stopped in Alpine for dinner. I had a shrimp and pesto pie (read as pizza). It was good, although the amount of butter that was on it was excessive. Almost as if they melted a whole stick and poured it on. The crust was so soggy I had to eat it with a fork and knife. While eating, the clouds rolled in and it started to flash, bang, crack, and rumble, although there was no rain.
The meteor shower was unimpressive. maybe it will be more awesome in 50 or so years when we see this particular shower again.

Also, Jeeps are awesome.

This is a new post, also I’ve been participating in the local FIRST Regional at the San Diego Sports Arena (IPayOne Center).
