Last Week!

0

This upcoming week is my last week of school before finals week which means everything is due sometime this week, a paper in writing, my various lab practicals, little bits of homework for various classes, all of this before finals week. But what am I doing today? going to the north shore as part of my RA’s program. So I’m off to the beach!

Water…

Being from southern California I am used to the arid climate there. Hawaii to me, conjured up images of bright sunny beaches with a warm climate and a cool breeze. However, to my surprise, this was not always the conditions I was in. In the fall semester there was actually a lot of rain, almost every day it would rain a little and occasionally it would just pour on us. At one point the storm was so bad (or good, I like storms) that it knocked out power to Kane’ohe for a few hours. I carry an umbrella with me in my pack every time I go to class, just in cause I may need to walk back to my hall in the rain.

At first the rain was very interesting to me, when I would hear it start raining, I would run to the window to watch, now I just mostly ignore it. Occasionally though, it will rain hard enough to warrant a look.

But don’t worry, more often than not it’s the beautiful sunny Hawaii that everyone thinks of and that makes the rain and little bits of bad weather worth it, if you visit, just be sure to throw an umbrella in with your swim suit… and while here, you’ll probably find this waiting for you.

Just a small update…

I’m quite busy right now. The last few weeks of class are upcoming and as such, semester long projects are beginning to wrap up. In other news… I have been offered housing at the HPU res halls and am all set for my classes next semester.

Sleep time.

Marine Life

Margeaux, the RA from Mokihana, took the MCAT on Saturday, the Friday before she was super nervous, to relax she swam out to Flat Island in Kailua Bay, I went with her. On the way I was met with some interesting sea life.

I don’t know what kinda of turtle that was, but it was quite speedy.

That looked like some kinda puffer fish to me. The fish didn’t like me and would swim away from, instead of towards, me. There were also some big crabs on the island itself.

I’m going to go look at my lab data now
